Thank you for interest, this particular hip pack does have the ability to carry a 12.9 ipad pro when carried as a shoulder bag. We do however feel that the if the hip pack is used as intended with the belt around the waist that that the potential for breakage could be quiet high especially when the belt or compression straps are pulled tight against the body.
