does this rain poncho cover a backpack as well?

i want/need a rain poncho for both my backpack and me. I am looking at this equinox brand and the description does not clarify if this will perform as mentioned above.

While it would depend somewhat on the size of the backpack and the wearer, the poncho measures 56 inches across, which would afford a girth of 112 inches total. A very large backpack would perhaps make the poncho fit more snugly in the front, or alter length in the back or placement of the armholes, but the sides are secured with snaps which could be opened for greater freedom of movement.
