A guyline is used to stabilize and secure a tent rainfly or tarp to the ground. Most tents and tarps come with enough stakes to pitch the tent, but adding additional lines and points of contact provide greaterstructure and stability in wind or rain, and can help increase ventilation inside of a tent.
